Base Supply
The establishment of the Phan Rang base supply account was one of the priority milestones required for sustaining base activation and development. Materiel requirements were filtered through this organization for lumber, plywood, cement, and other sundry construction materials needed for base development and growth. Immediate attention was given to the receipt and storage of F-4 and F-100 weapon system aircraft spare parts and supplies transferred and inbound from loosing bases. Support was established for motor pool repair parts, the tracking and identification of inbound equipment items of all varieties through the ports of Cam Ranh Bay, Saigon, and DaNang, and establishing the base fuels office, fuels requirements, and fuel distribution and dispensing systems. Weekly convoy runs to Cam Ranh Bay and Nha Trang to acquire purchase items on the local economy, and pick-up of inbound equipment items arriving by ship destined for Phan Rang, was a coordinated responsibility of the base supply, base transportation, and the Security Police organizations.
